Valerie Grasso Casalnuovo
Registered Dental Assistant/Front Desk
I’m a local girl, raised in Fairfax and a graduate of Drake High School. After high school, I enrolled at College of Marin in the dental assisting program and graduated as a Registered Dental Assistant with a Coronal Polish License. I began my career in Oral Surgery and then moved on as a chairside assistant with a general dentist. This profession has evolved and improved in numerous ways and I have expanded my knowledge to keep pace. I am delighted and honored to be a the Marin Health and Smiles team. Dr Wilsey’s commitment to quality dentistry and her genuine kindness and concern for her patients make this the perfect office for the “home town” girl.
I’ve been in the Dental field since 1996 and have seen some amazing advancements over the years. I ended up in dentistry as a result of a temp job covering for someone on maternity leave and it turned out to be such a good fit that I stayed! I’m great with numbers so the crazy insurance field actually makes sense to me! I have a degree in biology along with an extensive background in nutrition and alternative health care practices. I love working in the health care field and having the opportunity to educate people and share any knowledge that will help them on their path to optimal health.
Registered Dental Assistant/Expanded Functions
Believe it or not dentistry found me and I cannot imagine having a career doing anything else. I have been a dental assistant since 2003 and have worked for Marin Health and Smiles since 2005. I have taken the opportunity, when presented, to expand my skills, knowledge, and duties as a registered dental assistant. I additionally graduated from University of the Pacific where I learned how to place fillings, cement crowns, and take impressions for partial dentures. This was a huge accomplishment for me because I can now be more involved in taking care of patients and their long term health.
